Although I have removed advertisements from my blog, I do have a link to CHRISTIAN BOOK DISTRIBUTORS (CBD). I have been buying from them for a long time and I wouldn't have their link at the top of my page, unless I felt it benefitted you.

The Last Halloween EVER!

With COVID-19, the Ezekiel 38 invasion looming and the Rapture of those who love Jesus imminent, Halloween completely slipped my mind in view of being in the End Times. I know there has always been a debate on whether a Christian should have anything to do with Halloween, but I will leave that to the"Theologians" who have the time to argue. For myself, the main way I participate is to spend the night in prayer in order to overcome all of satan's activities which now surround that night as he has gradually taken it over to make it his own. Well, he can have it!

But since this is probably the last Halloween I will ever see and I wish to use EVERY opportunity to get people to notice Jesus, I will make a few suggestions this year. I doubt that there will be very many trick-or-treaters with COVID-19 lurking, but a prominently displayed pumpkin will most likely get noticed. So I have included a link to a website with Christian templates for Bible-themed pumpkins. And don't forget to put up a clear and concise Bible verse that can be read from a distance. And if you can't think of which one to use, you'd be amazed at how much the simple three words, "JESUS LOVES YOU" can get under someone's skin and into their hearts and minds. 😉😁

As for those of you stuck inside with your kids, this is yet another opportunity to make it a special night. We do so love to dress up and make-believe. So you can help your kids to do that as they dress up and reenact a Bible story.

And of course, it wouldn't be a creative post from me if it didn't include the encouragement to get out your crayons. So I have also included some coloring pages below while keeping in mind that a coloring page is just to get you started. Enhance it however you wish. Then, give it away. A personalized coloring page gets appreciated, kept, and can continue to encourage someone. It is a way of saying, "I've noticed you. I care about you. You are worth my time."

And don't forget to have LOTS of sweets and munchies available. I know everyone will be bouncing off the walls from too much sugar and chocolate, but the END OF HALLOWEEN forever is a pretty good reason to celebrate. Can we at least agree on that?

Speaking the truth, with love,

Always, Laura-Lee

Doodles, God's Love ... And Beyond

If you follow my personal blog, Laura-Lee Was Here, you already know that in the Spring of 2019 I awoke from a two-hour nap to discover I was completely paralyzed. After weeks in the hospital and an army of doctors' tests, medical science gave me this conclusion,

"We don't know what put you in that bed, so we don't know how to get you out. So you need to prepare yourself in whatever way you can to be paralyzed for the rest of your life".

And so I did, by committing my life to Jesus as I had the first time in 1978, even though it meant facing and creating a very different life as a paralyzed person.

Three days later I awoke from a nightmare to discover I was clutching the sheet with my right hand. And motivated by that small movement, I started to work my way back to mobility.

In between physiotherapy, I wanted to keep my hands moving and I muttered to myself, "I wish I had some crayons." The young lady in the hospital bed next to me heard and called back, "I have some!"

Then I heard her shuffle around and a minute later she scooted from behind the curtain that separated our beds and gave me a batch of crayons and a couple of adult coloring books. I took them gratefully and took up coloring again after a forty-five-year hiatus. But as I learned to move my hands and arms again, I also learned that I am capable of more than merely doodling happy faces and making the occasional greeting card.

So I invite you to join me on my journey as I learn to be an illustrator. Watch Jesus help me make godly connections, inspire me to do everything as "unto the Lord", attempt to  always give Him my best and discover that we need to keep playing and take delight in things both great and small, complex and simple ... even if we are at the age of fifty-four!

Love (STILL), Expressed By Doodles,

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." (Colossians 3:23)

I've been entering various drawing competitions and trying to learn from those who know so much more than I do.

Below is from a competition I actually won. The challenge was to draw hair but not the person's face.

I have a Deviantart account and always welcome constructive criticism. But be kind to me because I have very little confidence in my abilities right now. 😔

This was drawn with a no. 2 pencil and some Crayola coloring pencils on multi-purpose printer paper. The photo was taken by my Android tablet with NO enhancements done.

Jesus and Bible Printables and Coloring Pages

Below you will find several images I took from the Internet for you to print out and most require coloring. Several are very simple, but I think of the ones, even for children, as just a starting point. At this blog we like to encourage you not merely to color outside the lines, but add your own. Whether it's on paper on in your life.

Also, God's word never returns void.
Put them on your walls.
Tape them up in public washrooms, bulletin boards in stores, leave them with the magazines in waiting rooms. Get creative is spreading God's words
and His ways!

This final picture is just for a laugh. But you can still print it out if you really want to.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pens & Crayons: Product Reviews

Just bought Veritas gel pens. Set of 12. Great colors. Smooth flow. Haven't run out of ink so far. They look great on different types of paper,

Also Faber Castell pencil crayons. Set of 12 metallic, colors. Wonderful also.
Veritas products are reasonably priced, comparatively speaking.
My first time with both these products. I'm quite impressed.

To be completely honest, the best pens I ever used was the pink click pens with blue ink created by Bic for the Cancer society. Never blotch and took YEARS before running dry.

Two other favorite brand names for pens & crayons is Crayola (of course) but you can't go wrong buying a staedtler product.

And a few items on my fantasy wishlist, which I'm saving my pennies to buy someday.

Oooooooo. Yes, please!

I know I'm strange to enjoy pens and paper this much, but I've discovered I'm not alone by any means. Which may be even weirder!

Creative Design Heals

I was stuck in a hospital bed completely paralyzed. Suddenly I gained the use of part of my right hand again. In order to keep it moving and attempting to rejuvenate and restore the use of my right hand I decided to start coloring again. I also asked someone to bring me a crochet hook and some wool. I crocheted and crocheted and crocheted! People kept asking me what I was making. I would respond, "I am crocheting a husband. Why do you think it's taking so long?"

I never thought I would be on the internet again or be able to post in this blog or be able to pick up a pen or crayon to color and doodle again. We serve an amazing God. Thank you Jesus for restoring me.

I have just gotten my first journaling coloring Bible. It is a Promise Bible in the King James version. I've made a video about this and posted it on my YouTube channel. Please feel free to go and view it. And thank you for reading this post and visiting my blog and being so faithful to me through these difficult difficult times.

Praise the Lord and thank you Jesus for all who have stopped by here. May we all use our creative talents to glorify you and further your kingdom.

Love, Laura-Lee  (Rahn)

PRINT OUT Free Easter Coloring Pages & Bookmarks

Easter Book mark
(Hole to punch out & add ribbon)

I found a few very nice things on the Internet for creating a Christian Easter.

Books marks & coloring pages for you to PRINT OUT for FREE.

Hope you enjoy them with your kids or just to spend some quiet moments (coloring and creating) in the presence of the Lord.

Enjoy!

PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Usually the best way to PRINT something is to
HOVER OVER IT and then do a right click

OR

Look for the PRINTER emblem somewhere on your Browser Page and click on that

... and then follow the on screen instructions that follow.

BIRD Book mark

EASTER Bookmark (blank space to add your own sentiment)

NOTE: It is often recommended that you print a book mark (like those above) on a more sturdy paper, like card stock. But I've discovered it can take a lot of time and know-how to align a bookmark on cardstock.
Usually, I will print out a bookmark on regular 8 1/2 X 11 (letter size) paper and then fold the paper over when I'm done, cut around it and carefully tape around the edges with a (clear) scotch tape. (remembering to color it first).
That way you get the added strength of a double piece of paper but without any hassles. You can just print it out on regular letter paper.

Christian - Easter Coloring Page

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter long weekend as you take some time to turn away from your hassles and turn towards the Lord.

Household Hint: Cleaning Your Microwave

If your microwave is really dirty and disgusting and at that "it's-easier-to-buy-a-new-one-than-clean-the-current-one" stage, here's a hint to help:

Take a cup of water and set it to boil and then leave it to steam up the inside of the microwave. While it's still good and wet inside the microwave, you'll discover that stuck on food will come off much easier.

You may have to do this a couple times but it beats using up time, elbow work and also much cheaper than purchasing a new microwave.
